I help women answer the big, scary question:

“How to live a meaningful and joyful life while the world is burning?”

You’re worried/scared/sad/angry (or all at once) about climate change but it feels like nobody else really cares.
Your doom & gloom-filled newsfeed makes you depressed and hopeless – but you can’t stop scrolling.
You want to make sustainable choices but even picking the “right” peanut butter is totally overwhelming. You feel paralysed by everyday decisions.
You desperately want to make a difference but a little voice asks “Who are you to do this?” “You’re not a scientist/activist/vegan!” “You’re a hypocrite!”
You’re already exhausted and burnt out just from living. There’s no space in your calendar to also “fight climate change”
You question the value of your work or career – what’s the point in any of it when the world is burning?

If you nodded along to any (or all) of the above, you’re NOT alone.

Hi, I’m Jenny.

I’ve also struggled with eco-anxiety and climate grief over the past years.

I’d sit down to work unable to focus, thinking “How am I supposed to have a productive day when the world is on fire?”.

An unseasonably warm winter day would make me feel so guilty, I’d be unable to enjoy even a few rays of sunshine.

These worries took over every aspect of my life and, eventually, led to burnout.

These feelings are a completely natural and reasonable reaction to the crises we’re living through.
Avoiding them was stopping me from taking the much-needed action the world needs right now.
And this is a horrible way to live – potentially for the rest of my life.

“How can I live a meaningful, even joyful, life while the world is burning?”

I’ve spent the better part of the past 5 years trying to answer this question – through experimenting and trying lots of different things.

I read books, went to climate cafés, talked to dozens of people, faced my grief in a grief circle, marched and protested, wrote to my MP, listened to talks, made lifestyle changes and joined community groups. And more.

(Yeah, I might have gotten a bit obsessed).

SPOILER ALERT:
There isn’t one answer to this question (surprise!).

But I did learn a few things:

We need to learn how to process the big emotions, or they’ll keep us stuck feeling overwhelmed and paralysed.
We need to talk about it. The silence around climate change is keeping us isolated and hopeless.
The doom & gloom future isn’t inevitable. We can imagine a brighter future worth fighting for.
I’m not alone. There are millions of people out there who care deeply and who are already working on solutions.
The world needs everyone to take imperfect action, not a handful of people taking perfect action. You don’t need to be a scientist/activist/politician.
The climate crisis isn’t our fault – but we can be part of the solution.
And we can’t live happy lives with our heads in the sand. We have to face the climate crisis, even if it’s scary.

My 3-Step Climate Coaching Approach:

Feel Better

First, I’ll help you feel better – without sugarcoating reality.

  • I help you process your thoughts and feelings about the climate crisis in a judgement-free space.
  • And give you tools to navigate them in the future.
  • I’ll share strategies to help you find joy and beauty amidst all the chaos and uncertainty.
  • I’ll help you find your place within the climate movement without being crushed by overwhelm.
Imagine Better

Then we’ll imagine a brighter
future you’re excited to be part of.

  • I’ll help you practice your imagination skills so you can imagine a better future worth fighting for.
  • And we’ll identify steps you can take towards that future now.
  • I’ll help you develop healthier strategies for engaging with the doom & gloom news.
  • And to shift your focus towards solutions and positive change that is already happening.
Do Better

Finally, we’ll identify impactful, manageable actions you can take.

  • We’ll explore how you can step into climate action in a way that feels comfortable and suits your personality
  • I’ll help you identify skills and talents you already have (and the world needs), so you can make a difference in your communities now.
  • I’ll help you navigate decisions about your future, life or work without ignoring the reality of our warming world.

Gloom to Glimmer: Coaching to help women live a meaningful, joyful life when the world is burning.

My new program weaves together climate coaching, imagination and personal development to help women grappling with climate change find their place in building a brighter future.

Who is this for?

I work with women from all over the world, who:

  • Are grappling with the climate crisis and experiencing eco-anxiety and other emotions
  • Want to contribute but don’t really know where to start (or they feel nothing is enough)
  • Worry they have to get a degree in sustainability or glue themselves to stuff in order to make a difference (spoiler: you don’t!)
  • Feel alone and isolated with their worries and don’t know how to talk to friends or family without being “a downer”
  • Want to have more impact in their careers and/or communities but don’t know how (or how to find the time)
  • Are jaded by the status quo and business as usual…
  • And they know deep down that a better world is possible and they want to play a part in building it

If this sounds like you, I’d love to meet you!

How does it work?
  • All my coaching sessions are held online via Zoom.
  • We will meet weekly or every two weeks, depending on your preference.
  • I work with women across the globe and try to accommodate all time zones. If you can’t find a time that works for you, please get in touch and we’ll find a time.
  • As part of the booking process, I’ll ask you a few questions about your challenges and goals.
  • Our first session will be 90 minutes to give us enough time and space to talk about your challenges around climate change. All following sessions will be 75 minutes.
  • Depending on your needs and goals, I’ll share relevant resources like Journal prompts, articles, videos or books with you.
  • Together, we’ll identify your goals and make a plan to work towards them.
